To determine the fracture toughness value for an interface crack, which is situated at the interface between a nonhomogeneous elastic bonding layer and one of the two dissimilar elastic half-planes, the theoretical solutions are necessary for the circumferential stress intensity factors. In the present paper, the stress intensity factors are solved for an interface crack between the nonhomogeneous layer and one of the two dissimilar half-planes. A tensile stress is applied normal to the crack. The material properties of the bonding layer vary continuously from those of the lower half-plane to those of the upper halfplane. The differences of displacements in the crack surface were expanded to a series of functions that are zero outside the crack. The unknown coefficients in the series were solved using the Schmidt method so as to satisfy the conditions inside the cracks. The stress intensity factors were calculated numerically for selected crack configurations.
