摘要

Sensitivity gradient of response has been acclaimed to be a very special area of interest in engineering mechanics. It is a pre-requisite for carrying out optimization and reliability analysis of structure. The present work deals with the computation of response sensitivities of R.C. frame subjected to random ground motion due to earthquake. The sensitivity computation has been performed in frequency domain using finite element discretization. The earthquake-induced ground motion is modeled as non-stationary random process. Computational algorithm has been developed for determining the sensitivity of various dynamic response quantities. A space frame problem has been studied for elucidating the procedure.
