uses of activated carbon and conventional media filters for biological treatment of drinking water

摘要

Both activated carbond and conventional filtration media have been used as a support for biological treatment of drinking water. The use of activated carbon is more efficient than conventional filter media such as sand or anthracite due to the larger s urface area of the activated carbon and its adsorption capacity. This paper compares conventional media to activated carbon for the biological treatment of drinking water.
