摘要

A quasi-distributed strain sensor for structural monitoring using an optical time domain reflectometer(OTDR) is demonstrated. Three strain sensing heads are placed along a standard single mode optical fiber in several locations with different or same intervals. The strain of the steel beam introduce power loss in the fiber when strain is occurred. The decrease of the light intensity with strain variation is reported by OTDR.
