With the developing of precision agriculture, it is increasingly important to gather the real-time environment information of the farmland. Wireless sensor network is an effective method to gather the remote information. It is a primary part of the whole wireless sensor network application system to accept and process the farmland information effectively, which is gathered by wireless sensor network. How to build up a data processing server is introduced in this paper. Given the character of the wireless sensor network gathering farmland data, the server is based on the sockets communication, thread pool and I/O multiplexing and uses the object-oriented programming method. In this paper, the multi-connection TCP communication and the high-speed concurrency processing of large amount of real-time data are subtly resolved. The circular queue data structure, the multiple thread technology and I/O multiplexing are used in the server to receive, process and store the farmland environment real-time data. The class hierarchy is built up to increase the ability of code reuse. The data processing server as a primary component of the wireless sensor network gathering farmland environment information system has been successfully tested in Beijing Xiao Tang Shan National Precision Agriculture Study Technology Demonstration Base. The result indicates that the data processing server's stability and the efficiency of the real-time data processing can meet the requirement to gather the remote farmland environment information on a large scale.
