Improved water sensor module for detecting water in cable joints

摘要

This paper describes water sensor technologies in an optical fiberrnline testing system for detecting underground closures penetratedrnby water. We evaluated a new water sensor module and a markerrnmodule, and confirmed their application for detection. The newrnwater sensor module, which controls bending loss, can detect twornor more underground closures that water has penetrated and easilyrnidentify their positions.
