New Optical Cable Termination Box for Easy Mid-Span Access without Damage to Optical Cable

In this paper, we proposed that during terminating optical fiber cable in optical termination box (hereafter OTB), simple and fast termination is key function of OTB to reduce time and cost. The most difficult and troublesome termination process is placing optical cable in the OTB and mid-span accessing in the OTB. Simple and fast termination is possible by training workers who are doing termination at the field, but mid-span accessing can be solved by improving the design of OTB. Current design of OTB does not give workers much convenience when doing mid-span work. We did new OTB design to make mid-span simple and fast. We are certain that by the effect of new design in OTB, very easy and fast termination of optical cable is achieved which leads to cost reduction and increase terminations per day.
