On-dol is a traditional Korean heating system with a long history. The on-dol heating system isa default in ordinary houses and high-rise apartments alike. A new system capable of freelychanging the interior space is being developed as exemplified by the prevalence of the dryprocess due to the popularity of high-rise buildings, and SI housing. However, as on-dol usescement and water, it is heavy and needs curing time, which is a shortcoming. This studyexamined a new on-dol that answers the call of the times by improving the existing concept ofon-dol. The floor impact sound isolation performance of double floor system using wood,plaster, the panel-type structure using Styrofoam granules and cement was examined. Theresult showed that the double floor system was able to reduce the floor impact sound bychanging various structural conditions, and the panel type was somewhat insufficient inreducing the impact sound.
