A research on community participation in eco-tourism of aboriginal people in Taiwan

Eco-tourism sites at Taiwan are normally selected with abundant natural and aboriginal resources. High mountain areas are commonly reserved for aboriginal tribe residents who keep varieties of biology and culture. There are four perspectives of the authors concerns: participation degree, participation pattern, participation acknowledgement, and participation effects. Conclusions of this study refers that firstly, the aboriginal people should hold the directions of eco-tourism; secondly, the aboriginal people should maintain community reservation consensus; thirdly, the aboriginal culture should be the essence of local eco-tourism; and lastly, the government should endeavor to incorporate the ecology reservation and local eco-tourism of an aboriginal people. The preceding directions may be referred by a local government for the development strategies planning of an aboriginal people.
