The Development of Computerized Guideline for Urticaria Assesment

The benefits of clinical information system will be enhanced with the use of clinical decision support system (CDSS). In addition, the implementation of computer-based clinical guideline is expected decrease the medical cost, reduce the variance of practice among clinicians, and use for as the electronic educational materials. We have developed the knowledge model of urticaria diagnosis to assist the clinical practice. We have extracted the knowledge base from the clinical guidelines provided by the Korean Society of Allergy and contents from several sort of text. First, we use classification of origin of urticaria. Available questions were integrated into a similar context. Second, we have checked eaqh questions regarding various types of urticaria using Boolean cross table frame containing information about the patient report and the laboratory result. We planned to develop computerized guideline in clinical decision support- system with PDA for the point-of-care of physicians.
