Geological profiles, which are summarized from boring logs andrnexperimental results that obtained through underground investigation,rnplay an important role in geotechnical design or concerned constructionrnplan. However, the determination of geological profiles is not easy tornbe precise and/or consistent even by well-trained and experiencedrngeotechnical engineers. Expecting to improve such disadvantage, thisrnstudy tries to find an approach to establish a 3 dimensional digitalrnmodel by applying AutoDesk in describing underground geologicalrnstratum distribution around the campus of Huafan University where therncomprehensive database has been installed through GeographicalrnInformation System (GIS). Utilizing this 3 dimensional model that willrnbe included in the GIS databank, a geological profile could berngenerated under AutoCAD platform with respect to any intentionallyrndrawn section line on the plane view of the campus. The outcome ofrnthis study may improve the work of concerned geotechnical designrnwhen the precision and convenience of geological profiles can be easilyrnand consistently plotted.
