FRP (Fire Radiative Power) is the magnitude associatedrnto the thermal radiance which explains the ecologicalrneffects of active fire; it is the component of the chemicalrnpower released from burning vegetation and emitted asrnradiation during the process of combustion. In thisrnpaper, a discussion of the procedures for active fire FRPrnis presented: The Dozier method, the MODIS (ModeraternResolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) firerndetection algorithm and semi-empirical relation-shiprnbased on previous studies of BIRD (Bi-spectralrnInfraRed Detection) satellite. These procedures,rndescribed above, are applied to simulated data by arnradiative transfer model, based on Sentinel-3/SLSTRrnspectral characteristics in order to analyze the impact ofrnatmospheric conditions on FRP estimations.
