Mold Filling Experiments of Cast Alloys Using Video Monitoring

摘要

Mold filling experiments were carried out in 13 finnish foundries. The purpose of the experiments was to gain information on the behavior of liquid metal at differnet casting processes usign video monitoring. The results were used on verifying the mold filling calculation of a casting simulation program. The casting processes examined were gravity die casting (different aluminium alloys), die casting (brass), investment casting (steels), sand casting (cast irons and steels) and shell process (steels).
