摘要

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management has conducted surface water quality assessments throughout the State of alabama. The results indicated that when land is cleared for urban development, sediment transport to wethands, riparian areas, and surface waters resulted. Vegetative filter s trips (VFS) or buffers have been shown to reduce sediment loss at the field ede. The use of a computer model would be helpful in predicting the effect of VFS on trapping soil sediments using site specific conditions and local weather data.
