Watershed management approaches reduce costs

The purpose of watershed planning is to systematically identify and evaluate the effects of past, present, and future disturbances within a designated watershed area to the soil and water esources; to recommend resource management practices to eliminate any negative effects of the planned activities; and the tale action to improve watershed conditions. Effects of disturbances vary with its size, shape, physical location, length of disturbance, and applied best management practices. The general objective of watershed planning is to attain healthy functional watersheds.
