End-users and designers now more than ever require documentation on the Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) performance of Rolled Erosion Control Products (RECPs) in order to compare available materials and develop cost-effective designs. Many factors affect this performance, including: (1) depth, mean velocity and duration of flow; (2) cross-sectional geometry and longitudinal slope of the channel; (3) physical, mechanical and hydraulic properties of the RECP; (4) anchor pattern and density; (5) soil type and erodibility; and (6) vegetative type and density (Gharabaght et al., 1998).
