During the past five years, eight research studies were conducted on two full-sized experimental sedimentation basins (one with a volume of 140 m~3 and one with a volume of 50 m~3) at the Russell E. Larson Research Center at the Pennsylvania State University. Each of hte three replications of each treatment consisted of injecting a 100 m~3 inflow hydrograph (35 mm, 2 yr runoff event) from a 0.4 ha denuded construction site containing 454 kg of sediment into one of the basins. A summary of the results of these many experiments are presented herein.
