摘要

This paper first examines possibility for evaluating lighting design in terms of power-savingrnand proposes Electric Luminous Flux Consumption (ELFC) as an index to it, which isrnindependent of luminance efficacy of lamps and is defined as the total sum of fluxrnconsumption originated in electric light. This index can be interpreted into total electricalrnpower consumption by assuming luminous efficacy of luminaires. Through examining thernindex the necessity for simultaneous use of daylight and electric light is pointed out. Then thernrequirement for designing the both light is discussed and the need for estimating our eyes’rnadaptation level is suggested. Consequently the authors proposes a new lighting designrnmethod based on luminance image to achieve electric power-saving lighting installation andrnsuggests the possibility of about 60 % power-saving lighting design compared to commonrngeneral lighting.
