LED lighting is well known as energy saving and eco-friendly light source technology, and it isrnwidely believed that these features will make LEDs to be the dominant technology in lightingrnmarket eventually. However, the relative much higher price of LED lighting currently hasrnbecome the obstacle for market adoption. Besides cost issues, specifications, quality, andrnreliability are also key factors for the market driving. Several standards have been publishedrnto provide the baseline of these key factors test and measurement. In IES LM-79, integratingrnsphere and goniophotometer methods are published to measure total luminous flux. However,rnthe inconvenience of loading/unloading, the test time, and the size of the tools of bothrnmethods make it difficult to perform the test in production line, especially for larger DUTs,rnsuch as LED tubes. In this paper, an innovative method for total luminous measurement isrnproposed. It is able to improve test efficiency and keep quality consistently.
