Ore-Controlling Characteristics of Fault Structures And Prospecting Prognosis of Jiehe Gold Deposit

Located northwest of Jiaobei Upwarping Zone in Jiaodong Shield ("Jiao" in Chinese meaning "eastern Part of Shandong Peninsula" — Translator), the gold deposit of Jiehe Gold Mine falls under the component of Jiaojia Gold Field of Zhaoyuan - Yexian (nowadays the city of Laizhou) gold-bearing metallogenetic zone, facing ever-mobile Yishu Fault in the west, neighbouring the Pacific Plate to the east, and is separated with Jiao (zhou) -Lai (Yang) Basin in the south, corresponding to Jiaonan Swell. Extensively outcropped within this region are the beds of Jiaodong Group of Archaeozoic Eon, Fenzishan Group of Protero-zoic Eon, and also outcropped is Penglai Group of Neoproterozoic Eon which surrounds Jiaodong Group, with Jurassic and Cretaceous Systems only sporadically spread; tectonic activities are quite frequent, consisting overall in superimposition of NE-, NNE- and NW-trending structures in addition to EW-trending structure; widely distributed are the granitic rocks formed out of magmatic activities of different origins and in different stages and magmatic rocks are composed mainly of Linglong gneissic granite, Guojialing porphyroid granodiorite, Luanjiahe medium- to coarse-grained granite, with dike rocks emerging partially in swarms.
