A PROGRAM FOR GROUND TEMPERATURE DATA GENERATIONBASED ON THE EXPANDED AMeDAS WEATHER DATA CD-ROMS

The Expanded AMeDAS Weather Data CD-ROMsrnwould be available and may be utilized to conductrnbuilding simulations. However, the CD-ROMs do notrninclude temperature data for thermally undisturbedrnground. Considering that such data constitute importantrninformation for thermal design, a program havingrngraphical user interface is developed for generatationrnof hourly ground temperatures based on the CD-ROMs'rndata. This paper describes the numerical methodsrnapplied for the data generation, the scheme of thernprogram, and the database of soil thermal propertiesrnthat works with the program. The accuracy of therngenerated data is also discussed. The evaluation resultrntells that the daily mean ground temperatures can berngenerated with the accuracy of 2.5K at the maximum.rnThe program is designed to be a useful thermal designrntool by incorporating user friendly interfaces andrnaccurate numerical methods, and is planned to bernbundled with the release of the CD-ROMs.
