The combinations of parameter effecting optimumrnenergy consumption and good open view forrndesigning side-window of office buildings arernproposed. A generic reference building (GRB) isrngenerated by using DOE2.1E, a building energyrnsimulation program, under Thailand's weather data.rnThe base case of the office building model includesrnboth the typical energy consumption characteristicsrnand the daylight factor (DF) at various room depths.rnIn the daylighting case, integrating the daylight withrnstep dimming devices is considered for energy savingrncompared with the conventional lighting system.rnResults of parameterization and combinations onrnwindow properties, window-to-wall ratios (WWR),rnand external shadings give recommendations forrnenergy efficient daylighting design.
