The paper discusses the technical features of thernphysically based computer simulation/visualizationrntechniques for architectural lighting research.rnPotentials and limitations are evaluated in terms ofrninput, algorithms, output, and analysis tools. Thernphysically based simulation/visualization,rnsupplemented with numeric information, is arnpromising tool for evaluating the luminousrnenvironment. The deficiencies are discussed tornprovide means of improving the usability andrntrustworthiness.
