ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR HYBRID STRUCTURE OF TRUSS AND RIGID STRUCTURES

A new type of hybrid structure which is consisted of both truss members and rigid structures is proposed. In the first step, kinematic relations and equilibrium relations are formulated for truss member and rigid structure. Then by using these two relations, the following items are theoretically studied. (1) Classification of stable and unstable hybrid structures (2) Stabilization process of unstable hybrid structure (3) Existence condition of pre-stress (4) Stabilization by the introduction of pre-stress.
