473ceborne GPS has proved an invaluable utility for independent orbit determination. This paper describes the SGR Space GPS Receiver, a spacecraft orbit and attitude determination sub-system deisgned for small satellite applications. Information on the desing and characteristics are given and its performance as demonstrated in orbit. Commercial parts are almost exclusively used, and the practical implications are given. Three types of SGR receivers are listed, the SGR-05, -10 and -20, each aimed at a slightly differnet application. Information is given on how the SGR is integrated into a typical satelite.
