Substructure investigation and remediation for high tonnage freight line

Finding the root cause of a substructure (ballast, subballast an subgrade) related problem on railway track is critical to developing and implementing an effective and economical solution. Lasting solutions to substructure problems must address the underlying cause and oftentimes costly work is wasted on trying to treat symptoms rather than the root cause of a problem. In most cases, the root cause can only be determined by performing a suitable investigation of the substructure together with a proper engineering evaluation.
