AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF THE INFLUENCE OF INDUSTRY STRUCTURE ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP

摘要

This paper analyses the effects of specialization and diversity of industry structure on the entrepreneurship based on knowledge externality theory. According to the relevant datas of five high-tech industry from 1998 to 2006 covering thirty-one provinces and autonomous regions in China ， the empirical study concluded that both specialization and diversity of industry structure are conducive to improving the entrepreneurship. As for the short-term entrepreneurship effect, the specialization of industry structure is more conducive to generating entrepreneurship, while the impact of diversity of industry structure on the entrepreneurship is relatively limited.
