This work suggests a fuzzy MCDM model, in which criteria are classified into benefit and cost ones. Via the proposed method, ratings assigned by decision-makers to each alternative versus each criterion and weights assigned by decision-makers to each criterion are averaged. All averaged benefit and cost ratings are further normalized into a comparable scale before fuzzy weighted. The membership function of dividing the summation of weighted normalized benefit ratings by that of weighted normalized cost ratings for each alternative can be developed by interval arithmetic of fuzzy numbers. A fuzzy number ranking method can then be easily applied to defuzzify all the final fuzzy numbers for ordering the alternatives. The larger the defuzzified value, the higher priority the alternative will have. A numerical example demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed method.
