@@ In the practice of TsNIImash arc-jet facilities tests, it is photo registration of a heat protection material (HPM) sample behavior that provides data on its ablation characteristics. The sample frontal surface displacement relative to fixed photo camera gives us the linear ablation rate Vw and ablation temperature Tw can be determined by the ablative surface photo image brightness (negative density) [1].
