In order to solve the problem of the low melting materials generated the calcium in liquid steel reacting with Al2O3 and SiO2 in slide plate leading to the working life of traditional Al2O3-ZrO2-C slide plate significant reductions.The research used the large crystal fused magnesia, fused spinel and metal aluminum powder as main raw materials, flake graphite as the carbon source, liquid thermosetting resin as binder, to made high-performance magnesia spinel slide plate.Through optimizing materials,improved the thermal shock resistance, strength and corrosion resistance of the slide plate.Meanwhile through adjusting and optimizing the manufacturing technique, improved the rate of finished products and stability of the slide plate.The field experiment showed that: (1) The strength,thermal shock resistance and erosion resistance of magnesia spinel slide plate was better, and the problem of bad thermal shock and low yield of alkaline slide plate was solved well;(2) The magnesia spinel slide plate could well satisfy the requirements of use;(3) Comparing with traditional Al2O3-ZrO2-C slide plate, the working life and safety of the magnesia spinel slide plate obviously was improved.Through the analysis of magnesia spinel slide plate residual after being used the erosion mechanism of the high calcium steel and alkaline slide plate was discussed.
