摘要

Al incorporated Al2O3-C slide plate with the presence of Zn is newly developed unfired and low carbon type characterized by high hot strength both at low temperature and high temperature, good oxidation resistance at low temperature.Post mortem investigations have been carried out on the newly developed Al2O3-C slide plates after used in 90 t ladles casting low carbon steel for 2 consecutive heats.The bore enlargement is less than 2 mm/heat, and roughening on the sliding surface is slightly.The evolution of the used slide plate specimens in composition and microstructure from hot end to cold end have been investigated by XRD, SEM and EDS.The results show: (1) Al in-situ formed nonoxide bonding at the hot end creates strengthening and toughening effect;(2) Zn is oxidized at low temperature to protect resin partially and the oxidized product ZnO creates strengthening effects which contributes to increasing in hot strength and oxidation resistance at low temperature.
