Tailoring the Greenstone ‘Librarian’ for Seniors: Eliciting Metadata and Browsing Structures

This paper describes a ‘cultural probe’ studyrnunderpinning a user-centered re-design of the Greenstonerndigital library system’s collection creation sub-systemrn(the Greenstone 'Librarian'), with a focus on assistingrnseniors in developing Greenstone collections representingrntheir personal history. The results of this investigationrninclude a customized metadata set for these users’rncollections, and a ‘personal timeline’ browsing structure.
