A survey has been made of the trends of technology of plasticity, such as technologies for weight-saving of engine and other rotary components to improve fuel consumption and resources-saving technologies for manufacturing by component integration and near-net shaping as well as high-tensioning technologies for automobile weight reductions and press technologies including laser machining, and of the recent simulation technologies which assist such technologies.
