摘要

The fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) technology is a sensor technology based on Sagnac effect to measure angular rate.This technology has a series of advantages consist of low cost, high reliability, long life and wide accuracy coverage, widely used in aerospace, aviation, marine, engineering monitoring, ocean development, urban mapping and other fields.Based on the achievements at home and abroad for the past 20 years about the application of the fiber optic gyroscope technology on the deformation measurement of engineering structure, this paper introduced the application of the fiber optic gyroscope technology on deformation measurement of the dam and irregularity measurement of the railway track, in addition, this paper proposed future research directions aiming at the shortage of the fiber optic gyroscope technology on the deformation measurement of engineering structure.
