The reaction-induced phase separation evolution of the PES/BMI blends was traced by time resolved light scat-ting (TRLS). With the curing at some temperature, the ring pattern of light scatting appeared and became brighter, its diameter decreasing which implies the phase separation of the PES/BMI blends taking place according to spinodal decomposition (SD). From the final microscopic morphological structure observed by SEM, the secondary phase separation was found in the PES/BMI blends.
