A vital issue to be considered when designing and operating gear-pump hydraulic systems of various purposes is to obtain their functional and parametric reliability under conditions of pump-generated operating fluid ripple. Elevated pressure ripple is one of the major causes of fatigue decay of hydraulic systme elements, depressurization of couplings and readjustment of automatic control. The author knows about the case when under start-up conditions the gear pump-generated pressure ripple in jet engine fuel-feeding systgem resulted in readjustment of control relays which caused emergency stopping of the jet.
