摘要

The complete denture produced by traditional method is heavily relied on the skill and experience of the technician, with low quality and low effectiveness. A digital manufacturing system for complete denture that integrated digital imaging, CAD and RP technologies is described in this paper. The system consists of the artificial teeth database, 3D design software and RP manufacture. The database includes all kinds of artificial teeth with different shape, size and the marginal gingival surface. The software offers a suite of powerful modules such as the feature datum creation module, the teeth arrangement module and the base plate construction module and can realize the intellectualized and automated complete denture design. At last the costumed complete denture produce is fabricated by RP.The proposed digital manufacturing system can produce more comfortable, beautiful, economical, and durable complete denture product compare to the conventional manual operation.
