Reservoir occurrences and distribution drivernstrategy and development concepts for oil and gasrnfields. Therefore, it is important to identify therndistribution of reservoir zones. For the B-6 and B-5rnsand reservoirs in the Seng-Seat Field, Bentu Block,rnthis was achieved with paleo-geographic and sandrndistribution modeling. The outputs of the studyrnwere depositional environment and sedimentationrnpatterns, which were used to build the B-5 and B-6rnsand geometry and distribution model.rnThe Binio Formation is the main biogenic gasrnreservoir in the Bentu area, and the B-5 and B-6rnsands are the main reservoirs. Regionally, the BiniornFormation was deposited in a transitional coastalrnenvironment.rnData available for this study are wire-line logs, 2Drnseismic data (attribute and coherence), and pressurernsurvey data. The preliminary model was built basedrnon amplitude attribute, because gas bearing zonerncreates bright-spots on the seismic image. Thenrninversion and instantaneous frequency methodsrnwere applied to identify B-5 and B-6 distributionrnand heterogeneity. Finally, integration of the sandrndistribution map, controlled with the seismicrninversion boundary, the previous study of regionalrndepositional environment, and sand-shale ratiornanalysis, allowed the creation of a detailedrnpaleogeographic and sand distribution model of thernB-5 and B-6 reservoirs.rnThe models for the B-5 and B-6 reservoirs showrndifferent sedimentation patterns and sandrndistribution, including sand bars, tidal inlets andrntidal flats. Better understanding of B-5 and B-6 reservoirrnheterogeneity will lead to a better estimation ofrnhydrocarbon volumes, and therefore a fit-forpurposernfield development scenario for the Seng-rnSegat field.
