This paper introduces the general architecture and basic building principles and techniquesrnof ADEST. Having established the adaptive model for design objects and knowledge system modelrnusing object-oriented analysis method, a general structure of the adaptive design-oriented expertrnsystem is formed and, a prototype system is developed on the platform of Windows95/98 usingrnDelphi.
