Technological aspects on the beneficiation of candiota coal

This work presents a review on Brazilian coal deposits, their characteristics and industrial applications. A detailed description of the Candiota coal reserve is presented. The results of mineralogical and technological characterization as well as chemical analysis of this coal are discussed. Technological aspects of beneficiation of Candiota coal are also discussed, based on washability, degradability and beneficiation studies caurried out by CETEM and other research centres. Some alternative beneficiation routes are suggested, taking into account particular technological aspects of Candiota coal and the specific characteristics of the coal reserve.
