Effective Design of E-Iearning Application Based on Android Device and Grails

Requirements of students' learning conditions have become higher, learning should be accomplished at anytime and anywhere. An E-learning system is described in this article, which is easy to use and manage, and can assist decision-making for the teacher. Some part of the present system is deployed in mobile phone terminals, so it is easy to carry and user experience is improved. The system is built on Grails for the service side, its logic is encapsulated in Grails, so it is transparent to the front. Various functions are completed by Android applications interacting with the server through Web services, such as, online discussions subsystem and knowledge management subsystem. All of data about system logic is stored in Postgresql database. The core process of interaction between Android app and server-side logic is introduced finally.
