If shutdown time of watered oil pipeline is too long, it may lead to pipeline solidification. To ensure safe production, by building the multi-field coupling mathematical model of temperature drop process after transportation shutdown about buried oil pipeline, making use of finite element method, and associated with Fluent software, the variety of oil temperature with the shutdown time can be calculated theoretically. Then get united the field test, the safety shutdown time of watered oil pipeline, such as Ta2 well and Ta33-17 well, can be obtained, and respectively is 7h and 5h. The result has important significance to manage watered oil pipeline scientifically.
