Health Risk Assessment of Drinking Source Water in Wuhu

This paper chose a model for assessment of water environmental health risk supplied by USAEPA, used the material of Wuhu water quality from 2001 to 2005 and analyzed and assessed the quality of water supply sources in Wuhu. The result shows that the total health risk of the main water source was higher in Wuhu. Gene toxic substance was the main pollutant which made the health risk of the main water source higher, the maximal annual health risk for individual person due to carcinogens from drinking water came from Cr6+, and the next were As and Cd. The maximal annual health risk for individual person due to noncarcinogens from drinking water came from Pb, NH3-N and Hg; The health risk came from NH3-N showed an increasing trend, and it became the main physical toxic substance carcinogen instead of Hg after 2004. The health risk for individual person caused by chemical carcinogens was greater than noncarcinogens, so chemical carcinogens must be paid much attention in the risk decision-making management.
