A large portion of urban water use in China goes to watering landscape. Landscape water can improve the residential quarters of the natural environment, to meet people close to nature and the pursuit of health. Landscape water conservation is an important issue if the problem of having sufficient supplies to meet increasing demand while minimizing environmental impacts is to be addresses. However, common recommendations for addressing landscape water conservation are too simple to deal with the great variability in urban residential landscape. So how could maintain the residential landscape water in healthy state is the problem which must be solves in the landscape water design. The study at the center of this dissertation was designed to address questions of how to best predict and promote landscape water conservation. We analysis landscape water conservation about landscape water current situation; water source analysis; water balance and protection method. Understanding the interactions among the above elements in this framework is vital to achieving landscape water conservation goals. The findings from this research have implications for better understanding the human-technology-landscape system and for designing more effective landscape water conservation programs. The theoretical framework presented gives urban landscape water managers new tools and approaches to devise simple recommendations for improving landscape water use efficiency that take into account the high variability in urban residential landscape.
