Biodegradable ABA-type tercopolymers of trimethylene carbonate (TMC), L-lactide (LLA) and ε-caprolactone (ε- CL) with weight ratio of 30/30/40 and 40/20/40 (TMC/LLA/ε-CL) were synthesized via bulk ringopening copolymerization, using stannous octoate as catalyst. The molecular structure of the tercopolymer was characterized by <'13>C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The results showed that the novel poly (TMC-co-LLA)/poly(ε-CL) ABA type block tercopolymers were successfully synthesized.
