摘要

Quantitative crystallization kinetics data under extensional flow conditions have been very rare due to the demanding experimental requirements. However, the recent availability of crystallization data has allowed the evaluation of previously existing theories. The Avrami equation was found to be correlative but not predictive of the data. The rigid dumbbell model from the kinetic theory of polymers and the square well potential model from thermodynamics have been combined to produce a new, predictive model of flow-induced crystallization rates.
