With the recent evolution of high data rates in real-time sensor network applications, there is always an increasing demand for high performance query services in such networks. To meet this demand, we propose an adaptive approach for scheduling realtime query transmissions in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Our purpose is to schedule multiple real-time queries efficiently by maximizing the overall network throughput while meeting the queries' deadlines. The proposed scheduler allows multiple conflict-free queries to execute concurrently in order to achieve maximum throughput, besides the scheduler works preemptively to satisfy the real-time queries' deadline constrains. The simulation results showed that our proposed scheduler can be adopted to effectively increase network throughput and eliminate query prioritization inversion.
