Based on the failure mode of diagrid tube structure,the evolutionary process of the four stages of force distribution in inner and outer tube as well as the two stages of lateral stiffness degradation isdescribed by analyzing the structure's plasticity developing process.The distribution characteristics of plasticity energy dissipation,lateral stiffness key component and key component of energy dissipationare presented.Furthermore,the property of force redistribution occurs twice between inner and outer tube because of plastic stiffness degradation of the tubes is confirmed,and a pseudo-static test is conducted to verify the analytic results.It is proved that the stiffness characteristics of diagrid-tube and integrity of core-tube are the primary factors,which affectthe failure mode.Moreover,theoptimization principle of the seismic failure mode is established by the comparative analysis with the variation of the parameters,through which the optimal failure mode is obtained and the value or value range of performance parametercorresponding to the reasonable failure mode are given.At last,the paper presents the two stages failure control index based on the failure of diagrid-tube and core-tube.
