We describe a new technology that fuses the effect of candoluminescence with the technology of electrical incandescence. It is known that under heating certain materials emit light of shorter wavelengths than one would expect from a black body under the same temperature. This effect of candoluminescence has been described in the past with the use of various materials under flames and also utilised in gas lamps. In this paper we demonstrate that a common material such as silica that exhibits the candoluminescent effect strongly under a flame emitting very bright white light can be added to a typical incandescent lamp in order to change the lamp's emission characteristics. The heating of the filament which is at temperatures similar to most flames can induce the candoluminescent effect and the end result could be an evolved but still simple incandescent lamp of much higher efficacy, colour temperature and flux.
