Efficiency criterion is suggested in roll passes of section mills which gives a possibility to improve calibration during section rolling applied to hard-deforming steels sensitive to deformation. Besides it is shown that mechanical and functional properties of rolled sections are significantly influenced by geometrical parameters of metal grain structure. In particular anisotropy coefficient of grain form is considered. The technique for properties forecast as to their geometrical characteristics of grain structure suggested in the article allows enhancing calculation precision of mechanical properties of rolled sections from hard-deforming steels.
